Artbotics is a partnership with the University of Massachusetts Lowell Computer Science and Art Departments since 2006, in which students produce and display a system of self-designed kinetic sculptures which move to input from motion-sensing devices.

The goals of Artbotics program are to:

  • Increase the participation of women and minorities in computing through the use of innovative and interactive technologies
  • Broaden student understanding of the field of computing, to introduce computing to the public through art exhibitions of the projects
  • Build community with mentoring opportunities for students

This past Spring, Artbotics participated in the Greater Boston CyberArts Festival.
Their exhibition was called Other Side.
