Ages 18+

Photos or objects imbued with personal meaning will be incorporated into collages that enhance, expand and explore the original images. Timeless impressions result from combining like and unlike materials of various textures, shapes and colors while juxtaposing them in innovative and creative ways. The class will follow a step by step process of selecting materials, designing and constructing collages that best express the intent of the artist and the true nature of the subject.

Materials List: photos or photo reproductions, 2-D objects that can be glued to a surface, other personal materials to be applied to the surface, i.e. ribbon, braid, unusual paper, mementos, written material, scissors, x-acto knife, and colored pencils.

Painting with Watercolors -Part 2

This workshop is a continuation of Painting with Watercolors. Students will have the opportunity to further develop the basics of composition, watercolor techniques of wash, graded wash, wet on dry, wet on wet, lifting color, mixing color, and adding textures. New students are welcome but should have prior knowledge of basic watercolor techniques.

Materials List: pad- watercolor paper, or sheets and board large enough to tape paper down, #5H pencil, gum eraser, (brushes)- #8 rnd, #4 rnd., #2 rnd., ½" or ¾ " flat, #1 fan brush optional, a starter kit of tube watercolors, or suggested colors in tubes: alizarin crimson, cerulean blue, cadmium yellow light, cadmium yellow deep, olive green, permanent green light, burnt sienna, burnt umber, prussian blue, paynes grey, a paint pallet, jar or glass for water.

Digital Photography for the Beginner

Ages 18+

Demystify the digital experience and get to know your camera. This course will cover technical and aesthetic skills that will allow you to create beautiful images and prints. Classes will be held on Wednesday evenings with the exception of one Saturday morning session where students will have the unique opportunity to do an outdoor photo shoot with the instructor. Get out of the automatic mode and learn other settings for a creative approach to digital photography!
