The Revolving Museum presents: "The Show and Tell UVAS Fundraiser,"
a reading with Lowell native and Revolving Museum's featured artist
Dave Robinson, as well as poets Paul Marion and Matt Miller. The
evening will be a fundraiser for the Urban Village Arts Series (UVAS).
There
will be live music by Matt Descoteaux, LZ Nunn, Jeff Lowe and Gabriel
Cruser. UVAS T-shirts and CDs will be for sale, 15$ and 10$
respectively! Please join us for this wonderful night in support of
these poets and in support of the incomparable Urban Village Arts
Series. Tell your friends, bring your Benjamins!

The City
of Lowell's 2nd Annual Film Festival will focus on issues of fair
trade, garment production, sustainability, and supply & demand in
today's complex global food market. Programming will include film
screenings, guest speakers, panel discussions, AND a fair trade market.
The three-day event is FREE and open to the public!
The following events will happen at the Revolving Museum as part of the Lowell Film Festival:

Film Screening: Black Gold 3:00pm-4:45pm Free Event PG 13
"As
westerners revel in designer lattes and cappuccinos, impoverished
Ethiopian coffee growers suffer the bitter taste of injustice. In this
eye-opening expose of the multi-billion dollar industry, Black Gold
traces one man's fight for a fair price." Following the film there will
be a discussion with guest panelists: Equal Exchange, Batian Peak, and Andy Jacobson (owner of Brew'd Awakening Coffeehaus, Lowell).

Please note that on Saturday, April 4th the gallery exhibition will not
be on view to the public due to the film screenings.

Joe Darensbourg Presents: "Beyond the Book"

Friday, April 24th 7:00pm-9:00pm General Admission $7, Members $4 Ages 12 and up
Somebody call the
Copts! Professional book binder and featured "Show and Tell: The Art of
the Narrative" artist Joseph Darensbourg will give a fascinating talk
and performance focused on the art of storytelling according to
different cultures and traditions. During "Beyond the Book" Joe will
talk about some of the bardic (musical storytellers) traditions, play
the Oud (mid eastern Lute), violin and drum.

Artist Talk With Illustrator Donna Berger

Ever wonder how
illustrations for children's books are created? Join us for a
presentation by featured "Show and Tell: The Art of the Narrative"
artist Donna Berger. She will read one of the stories she illustrated
and demonstrate the process behind it. Donna works as a freelance illustrator, designer and marketing consultant at Western Avenue Studios in Lowell, MA. She creates illustrations and designs for picture books and children's publications, and design and marketing materials
for business clients. Her tools include a digitizing tablet, creative
software on a Macintosh computer along with traditional drawing and
paint media.
