Nora Valdez with Lowell Community Charter School

Dream Locomotive, 2003
Wood and paint

With its history of migrants and immigrants coming to Lowell from distant shores, from the time of the textile mills to the current day, Lowell has been a train driven by dreams, ridden by dreamers working for a brighter future. Today, with an influx of artists as well, the dream is really in motion. The children of the Lowell Community Charter School working together with artist Nora Valdez and the Revolving Museum have helped create this train which carries the history, culture and dreams of Lowell and its diverse inhabitants. All aboard! This train is moving - past, present and future!
