On Saturday night, October 7th, 2006, The Revolving Museum launched the ARTventures: Hamilton Mill Ruin project. This documentary film project transformed an abandoned mill complex into a public art spectacle that included a parade, sculptural and scientific installations, music, dance, and writing performances, large-scale video projections, interviews, and other creative weirdness.

“It takes a Community of Artists to resuscitate dead industrial space--to make it flower again,” said participating filmmaker Laki Vaz.

ARTventures is a dynamic year-long series of adventuresome and historically grounded projects transforming three historically significant, yet underutilized, urban spaces in Lowell, Massachusetts. Under the rubric of “ARTventures,” The Revolving Museum will lead a collaborative endeavor – using public art, educational programs, and beautification projects as engines – to transform these neglected landmarks into exciting places that both enhance public enjoyment and promote artistic provocation and dialogue.
